Stakeholder engagement & public consultation

If you’re looking to influence decision makers at a local, regional or national level to support your project, Boxed Off can help.

Our team of senior consultants have decades of experience supporting a wide range of built environment projects across the UK and are rooted in the areas and communities you need to engage with.

We have a community first approach, as we believe that to maximise the chances of being successful, you need to:

  • Understand the context of the community
  • Share your vision with the community as widely as possibly
  • Build consensus within communities to support your vision

This approach ensures the possibility of building support throughout a community and minimising the risk of developing opposition to your project, as leaving people in the dark only creates space for speculation and opposition.

  • Shree Hanuman Temple, Leicester – We are currently working with the trustees of the temple, to deliver the second only temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman in the UK which will provide extensive community benefits for the whole of Leicester.

Our success stories

Richard Clein and Rupert Browne, whilst working as consultants at Forty Shillings, guided clients through local council and, where appropriate, national government complexity to help deliver the following schemes.

  • Brooklands Grove, Weybridge – Our support for Cala Homes and Brooklands College helped to deliver plans which provided a new state of the art campus, approximately 300 new homes for local residents as well as securing the long-term future of the College.
  • Gun Cotton Way, Stowmarket – Appointed by Location 3 Properties, we delivered a detailed stakeholder engagement and public consultation to support the delivery of a new M&S and commercial units that was approved unanimously at Planning Committee.
  • Members Hill, Weybridge – Working alongside Socius and Amicala, we helped securing planning permission to redevelop vacant offices into integrated retirement community in the heart of Surrey.
  • Roundhill Wood Solar Farm – We are proud to have supported this local community group to oppose a solar power plant with our work gaining national media attention and over 5,000 letters of opposition submitted to Wychavon and Redditch Councils.
  • Brighton Road, Purley – Working with Grove Property to deliver a new M&S and cultural enterprise hub, whilst restoring local listed buildings, we secured more than 500 letters of support and approval through delegated powers.
