Berkshire nursing home Larchfield House appoints new general manager

Larchfield House nursing home in Maidenhead has appointed a new general manager.

Ex-soldier and paramedic Cliff Grand-Scrutton has taken over the running of the facility which specialises in dementia care for the elderly.

Cliff brings with him over 20 years’ experience holding executive positions within the NHS and private healthcare sectors.

He has also been a director of services for both a group of children’s hospices and a residential school and college for those with disabilities.

During his 22-year military career, Cliff achieved a Masters in business and administration and a degree in microbiology, alongside qualifications in accountancy, health and safety, facilities management and human resources.

Cliff, who has also taken up a directorial role within Larchfield House, said:

“I’m relishing the opportunity to work with the 72 residents and dedicated staff of Larchfield House.

“The nursing home was placed in special measures in 2017 but was able to quickly make the necessary revisions to change this rating.

“My goal is to improve its next report from the Care Quality Commission even further.”

Larchfield House, part of Hplus Care Limited, offers packages based on each individual’s medical, care and social needs.

The nursing home works closely with GPs, social workers, families and other healthcare professionals to ensure each resident receives care of the highest quality.

Cliff continued:

“We have a new management team in place and a comprehensive refurbishment scheme with work due to be completed by the end of the year.

“The future is bright for Larchfield House and I’m looking forward to putting these very positive plans into action.”
