Lightwater Valley adds two new family attractions for 2016

With a new season just begun at Lightwater Valley, Boxed Off Communications announced the arrival of two brand new family attractions at the theme park for 2016…

A new ride which spins almost 80ft above the treetops is just one of the highlights at Lightwater Valley this season.

Fun-seekers across North Yorkshire will be itching to experience the high-flying thrills of the Apollo ride, while little ones will be able to hang around in the new Funkey Monkey’s Soft Play which is due to open in May.

There’s also an exciting line-up of events to look forward to this season, from children’s TV presenter Andy Day and his interactive Dino Raps show in August to a weekend full of crime-fighting action in June for Superheroes Live.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of The Ultimate, still Europe’s longest rollercoaster, and there are celebrations planned later in the year.

The season will climax during October half term with fabulous fireworks and the park’s spooky transformation into Frightwater Valley for Halloween.

Mark Bainbridge, general manager at Lightwater Valley, said:

“We are excited to see our guests’ reactions to Apollo, I’ve been up for a test ride and it’s certainly only for those with a strong stomach and a head for heights!”

“The weathermen are predicting a heatwave at Easter which I’m sure everyone would love and what better place to enjoy the sunshine than in the middle of 175 acres of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside?”

The theme park opens on Wednesday, March 23, and more information about Lightwater Valley can be found at the website: www.lightwatervalley.co.uk or via the Facebook page: Facebook.com/LWVTP. You can also follow on Twitter: @LightwaterV.
